1. Who we are
SEO Monitor is an internal SEO operations application operated by VirtueNetz (“we”, “us”) and hosted at https://seomonitor.virtuenetz.com. The application is restricted to authorized members of the VirtueNetz team. It is not a public-facing product and we do not enroll outside users.
2. What information we collect
When you sign in to SEO Monitor we collect:
- Identity (Google OAuth): your Google account email address and display name. This is used to authenticate you against the workspace’s authorized team roster and to attribute work you log in the app.
- Google Search Console data (when explicitly connected by an owner): search performance metrics for the websites you connect — queries, pages, impressions, clicks, and average position — along with the OAuth refresh token needed to read this data on a recurring basis. We use the
webmasters.readonlyscope; we do not write to or modify any GSC property. - Application activity: tasks you create, hours you log, evidence URLs you attach, comments, and other content you enter into the app.
We do not collect data about visitors to the websites being monitored. The app only sees aggregated and per-query metrics that Google Search Console provides to property owners.
3. How we use this information
- To authenticate you and enforce role-based access controls within the workspace.
- To display ranking trends, opportunities, audit findings, and outcome verdicts for the websites the workspace owner has connected.
- To attribute tasks and time entries to the correct team member.
- To send operational emails (daily digests, blocker reminders) to authorized team members at the email address on file.
4. Google API Services and Limited Use
SEO Monitor’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We use Google user data only to provide the SEO monitoring features described in this policy.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as needed to provide the service or comply with applicable law.
- We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your explicit consent for specific data, it is necessary for security purposes (e.g., investigating abuse), or to comply with applicable law.
5. How we store and protect your data
- Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on a server we operate, accessible only over an internal Docker network (no public database port).
- All traffic between your browser and the application is encrypted in transit using TLS (HTTPS).
- Authentication uses HTTP-only, signed session cookies. Google OAuth refresh tokens are stored in the database and used only for the workspace owner’s explicit GSC connection.
- Access to the application requires a Google sign-in and an entry on the team roster curated by the workspace owner.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing. We do not share Google user data with third parties at all, except as required by law or with your explicit consent. The only third-party services involved in the application’s operation are Google (for OAuth and GSC API) and the optional OpenPageRank API (for fetching domain ratings of public websites — no personal data is sent).
7. Data retention
We retain your account information and the work you create for as long as you remain an authorized member of the workspace. When the workspace owner removes you from the team, your account is deleted and your future access is revoked. Aggregated work history (tasks, hour logs) may be retained as part of the workspace’s operational record.
You can revoke the application’s access to your Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
8. Your rights
You may at any time request: (a) a copy of the personal data we hold about you in the application, (b) correction of inaccurate data, (c) deletion of your account and the personal data tied to it, or (d) revocation of any Google API access you have granted. Requests can be sent to the contact below.
9. Children’s privacy
The application is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to authorized team members.
